Professor David de Vaus, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, congratulated the most recent recipients of UQ Medals at a celebratory event hosted by the Faculty, on Thursday, July 7, 2011.

Of the nine SBS students recognised as University Medalists in 2011, six of these were from the School of Psychology, two were from the School of Social Science and one from the School of Education.

The award of a University Medal recognises the achievement of outstanding academic results throughout a student's program of study.

To be considered for a University Medal, a student must have been awarded a bachelor degree with first class honours and have demonstrated academic excellence.

Currently, a minimum GPA of at least 6.55 including all courses contributing to the relevant program is required, and only the top 1% of bachelor degree graduates in the relevant faculty may be nominated.

The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences values the outstanding commitment and enthusiasm that UQ Medalists bring to their university studies and looks forward to following their continued academic development and success into the future.
