Professor Ottmar Lipp - The Acquisition and Extinction of Human Fear
Subject area and project topic:
The acquisition and extinction of human fear explores the factors that influence fear learning and extinction.
Type of activities student/s will be undertaking:
- Literature review to get started on the topic
- Completion of individual research topic project (design, data collection, analysis and write-up)
- Participation in lab group meetings
Likely outcome of internship/s:
Details depend on the project area:
- Experience in experimental design and data acquisition (Response times, physiological responses (electrodermal), facial EMG, heart rate)
- Experience of working in a research team
- Experience in scientific presentation and writing
Timeframe:
Start Date: December 2011 (to be negotiated)
End Date: February 2012 (to be negotiated)
Hours Per Week: 20 (to be negotiated)
Number of Possible Students: Up to 2
