The Faculty is strategically placed to foster commercialisation projects for staff and students and ensuring support and advice is available during all stages of the commercialisation process. The projects below not only highlight the success of commercialisation in the Faculty of SBS but provide insight into the enormous potential of research in the social sciences.

Triple P - Positive Parenting Program
This international award-winning program promotes the independence and health of families by enhancing parents’ knowledge, skills and confidence. Developed by Professor Matt Sanders from the Parenting and Family Support Centre in the School of Psychology, it is based on decades of research and clinical trials, has been rolled out in 15 countries and translated in to 13 languages.

 

Leximancer
Leximancer is an innovative and revolutionary software tool which enables users to derive meaning from text-based documents, to find their true meaning. It automatically identifies key themes, concepts and ideas from unstructured text with little or no guidance. In May 2007, Leximancer Pty Ltd secured international funding which will expand its potential in the global market.

 

Latch-On - a post-school program for Adults with a disability
Latch-On® is a literacy and technology program for young people with an intellectual disability. It is a holistic program that encourages learning through reading, writing, speaking, listening and viewing.


 
Mindfields
Based on more than three years of extensive research, the six-week Mindfields intervention program is designed to enable youth at a high risk of delinquency to change their lives. Through interactive DVDs, journal writing, social modelling activities, inspirational testimonies, and one-on-one counselling, teenagers are challenged to question their actions, make informed choices about their behaviour and create positive changes.
