Information for Teachers
Registration
Online registration is a must. We anticipate that the workshops will fill quickly so to avoid disappointment, please ensure your students enrol in their workshops as soon as possible. Workshop enrolments for the event should be completed by Thursday 28 June.
Please note registration is for individuals; students and teachers must complete this process. To register for 2012, please click here.
Students will receive a confirmation email upon registration and an email detailing their timetable for the day will be sent to them on Monday 9 July.
Program
Sign-in on the day commences at 8:30am. Please ensure your students arrive on time, ready for the 9am welcome. The event will conclude at 2:30pm. Students are encouraged to wear their school uniform. A detailed version of the program can be viewed here.
Transportation
All schools should organise to arrive at the Chancellors Place bus stop at the St Lucia campus. If your school intends to travel by other means (ferry, private car etc) please notify the event organisers.
Should your school require long-term bus parking, please contact us on shapeyourworld@uq.edu.au and we will arrange a location.
Catering
On the day students will be provided with morning tea and lunch. This includes:
Morning tea: Cookies, juice and water.
Lunch: Sausage sizzle - vegetarian and beef sausages available.
Students with specific dietary requirements should make arrangements to bring their own lunch or they can purchase from the food outlets on campus.
Be sure to tell your students to 'like' us on facebook to keep up-to-date with the latest event news and to go in the draw for a $100 iTunes voucher. Search for UQ Careers that Shape the World Event. The winner will be announced on the day.
Prizes
A number of prizes are on offer for students who register to attend the day. These include:
