Human Factors is concerned with improving the fit between humans and technology. Human factors professionals advocate the design of technology centred around human needs.
HFES-UQ is the fourth international student chapter of the US-based Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) and the first HFES student chapter established in the southern hemisphere.
We are devoted to the promotion of Human Factors as a discipline and the development of future human factors professionals within Australia and on the global stage.
Our goals are to:
- Promote the exchange of ideas and research between Australia and the international Human Factors community.
- Increase awareness and understanding of Human Factors at The University of Queensland and in Australia.
- Build relationships and encourage knowledge exchange between industry and academia.
- Encourage and provide professional development opportunities for members.
