SBMS members submitting a grant to any agency are invited to join in. The idea is that the applicant verbally presents their tentative aims and research plan in a 5-10 minute grab (like one that a grant spokesperson would present in an NHMRC grant review panel).
The panel normally comprises of School staff with experience on grant review panels. They will provide immediate verbal feedback. The feedback process at this stage would be at the more general level regarding whether more pilot data is needed, whether it should go to ARC or NHMRC, whether it is pitched towards the most appropriate panel, whether changes are needed to the CIs and AIs, whether the aims and hypotheses are appropriate, whether the applicant is presenting the right big picture, etc.
