The Gross Anatomy Facility (GAF) is a modern scientific teaching unit, catering to almost 4000 anatomy students annually.  This Facility also provides flexible space for the display and practice of state-of-the-art skills in medical anatomy. The GAF comprises a large dissection laboratory, an embalming suite, prosectory laboratory, cadaver storage area and several private tutorial rooms, our facility is an authorised School of Anatomy governed under the Transplantation and Anatomy Act 1979 which requires that all our donors are treated with the utmost of dignity and esteem. This modern and spacious laboratory provides anatomical resources for students of medicine, science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, health and medicine education, conducive to mastering this most demanding subject.

Pharmacy, Dentistry and Human Movements are able to learn human anatomy using the latest technology in a respectful environment.    Teaching tools range from life size skeletons, bones, radiographic images  as well as potted, plastinated and wet specimens. The Gross Anatomy Facility is further supported by the Anatomy Museum & Learning Centre which houses a large collection of models, posters, plastinated and potted specimen exhibits, rotated periodically in line with medical problem-solving learning cases or existing practicals.  By private arrangement, the museum is also visited by year 11 and 12 high school students to enhance their biology curricular experience.  The facility administers strict policies for partaking in the museum tours to provide a healthy working environment for staff and students, and  to show respect for our donors.
