STAFF NEWS

 

Dr Felicity Coffey will join the Learning Assistance Unit, Student Support Services, on May 9, 2005. Dr Felicity Coffey has extensive experience in teaching at universities. Her brief is to help undergraduate scholarship holders develop an understanding of academic standards and expectations and acquire effective learning strategies for achieving their academic goals. She will work with students on all three campuses.

 

 

TIMETABLE ALTERATION

Just a reminder that on Tuesday 26 April a Monday timetable will apply for all three campuses.

 

SEMESTER 2 TIMETABLE - RELEASE TO STUDENTS

 

It is anticipated that the Semester 2, 2005 timetable will be available on mySI-net in June 2005.

 

AMENDMENTS TO THE HANDBOOK OF UNIVERSITY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES (HUPP)

 

 

At the meeting of Senate held on the 24 March 2005, the following policy was amended:

 

3.20.10 Principles and Protocols for the Provision of Service Teaching

 

Following a review in 2002, Senate approved minor amendments to take into account the current organisational structure and changes to terminology.

 

Administrative changes to existing policies:

 

3.20.1 Maintenance of Academic Records

 

Policy amended to reflect current practice.

 

3.20.14 Award of Honours

 

Changed to reflect the decision of Senate on 7 October 2004 to award a class of honours based on weighted percentage score of all courses contributing to the award of honours.

 

 

 

AUSSIE INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP PROGRAM

UQ Chaplaincy Services presents James Morrison in concert

 

Jazz great James Morrison and a six piece band featuring John Morrison on drums and vocalist Emma Pask will perform at the UQ Centre. The two-hour evening concert has been organised by UQ's Chaplaincy Services for the Aussie International Friendship Program which promotes international and Australian student interaction. The concert coincides with the University's Diversity Week.

 

 

The Cannon Hill Anglican College Big Band will support James Morrison with guests from the UQ Brass Ensemble.

 

The concert will be held in the UQ Centre at the campus on Monday 9 May at . The doors will open at .

 

 

Transport will be arranged for staff and students from Gatton and Ipswich campuses. If you are interested in using this service please send an email to s.aman@uq.edu.au stating which campus you are traveling from, how many people would be interested and whether you require return or one-way. More details will follow regarding time and cost.
