Under the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009, a person has a right to make an application for internal review of a decision made under the relevant legislation. The Vice-Chancellor has delegated power to carry out an internal review, to the Chief Operating Officer. If the University receives an application for internal review of an original decision made by the RTI or IP Acts, the Chief Operating Officer will review the decision and either affirm or vary the decision.
All internal review applications must be made in writing and addressed to:
- state the grounds for review (eg. objecting to a document being exempt from disclosure); and
- be lodged within 20 business days after the date of the written notice of the decision.
