Welcome

Rhizomes V Diaspora: Language & Place
A Conference for Postgraduate and Early-Career Researchers 4-5 February 2010

The University of Queensland’s School of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies invites you to participate in the School’s annual postgraduate conference Rhizomes – designed by and for postgraduate students and early career researchers.

The aim of Rhizomes is to provide an opportunity for scholars working within the humanities and social sciences to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue on the theme “Diaspora: Language & Place”. The conference encourages the elaboration of varied perspectives on one or more of the theme areas in the Humanities and Social Sciences in order to explore the connections, continuities and discontinuities that intersect the concepts of Diaspora within other human fields such as language, place, memory, literature or identity.
