Thank you to all participants for a successful conference! We have added some photos to the website ( Web Gallery on the left ), and there are more photos on our facebook page. If you would like a photo removed (and/or deleted from our files) please let us know by email.

Brisbane has recovered from the flood of mid-January. The University of Queensland reopened as scheduled on 20 January. Train and bus services have returned to normal, however ferry services on the Brisbane river have been discontinued until further notice due to flood damage. Brisbane airport is open and operational
Tropical Cyclone Yasi poses no threat to South East Queensland.

Registration has closed.Thank you to all who have registered and paid. The committee is now working on the conference timetable and booklet. An electronic copy will be sent to all participants as soon as it is complete.

Recent flooding in South East Queensland has caused major disruption to Brisbane's CBD and riverside suburbs.
The University of Queensland is temporarily closed and scheduled to reopen 20 January. Public transport in Brisbane is currently operating at reduced capacity, with some services diverted or cancelled. Services are expected to improve gradually over the coming days. Brisbane airport is open and operating as usual.
Rhizomes will go ahead as scheduled on 11-12 February, 2011, at The University of Queensland's St Lucia campus.

Early bird registration for AUD40.00 closes this Friday, 17 December 2010 (Australia Eastern Standard Time). Registration after this date will be AUD50.00. Registration closes 28 January 2011 (AEST).

Regrettably, one of the three keynote speakers, Professor Judith Halberstam, has withdrawn from Rhizomes VI.

Emails have now been sent to everyone who submitted a proposal, notifying them of the outcome of their application. We are in the process of preparing official acceptance letters for those who have requested them. To register your attendance, go to Registration.

The deadline for submissions has now passed. Thank you for your abstracts and panel proposals. Accepted submissions will be notified by 15 October 2010.
25 Sep 2010:
Registration fees have been finalised. Early bird registration by 17 December 2010 costs AUD40.00. Registration after this date and until 28 January 2011 will be AUD50.00. These prices apply to all attendees and include morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on both days.
Papers presented at Rhizomes VI may be considered for publication in the international peer reviewed journal, Critical Inquiry in Language Studies.
