Trans-Pacific Fellowships
The Trans-Pacific Fellowships (TPF) is a new initiative between The University of Queensland (UQ) and The University of Washington that funds opportunities for study and research exchanges spanning the Pacific Ocean. The University of Queensland Trans-Pacific Fellowships aim to support high-achieving UQ undergraduates, research higher degree candidates and staff to undertake study and research at the University of Washington. The financial support provided by the Trans-Pacific Fellowships will encourage the development of permanent personal and institutional friendships, as well as the pooling of the universities’ expertise and resources to derive better teaching and research results.
The University of Queensland expects to fund a minimum of four Trans-Pacific Fellowships for 2009. At least one award is anticipated in each of the UQ Fellowship categories:
The University of Queensland expects to fund a minimum of four Trans-Pacific Fellowships for 2009. At least one award is anticipated in each of the UQ Fellowship categories:
- TPF – Undergraduate Fellowships: Open to UQ undergraduate students to participate in an academic exchange for one academic semester. Students are to be in their fourth semester or later at the time of application.
- TPF – Research Higher Degree (RHD) Fellowships: Open to UQ Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) candidates to work in a research group at The University of Washington for a period of up to three months
- TPF – Early Career Academic Fellowships: Open to UQ early career staff to conduct research and/or lecture at The University of Washington in academic and professional fields for a period of up to 6 months.
- TPF – Senior Academic Fellowships: Open to UQ academic staff to conduct research and/or lecture at The University of Washington in academic and professional fields for a period of up to 6 months.
The due date for lodgement of full applications is 17 June 2009. Please note that the individual UQ Faculties and Institutes may only shortlist a maximum of two applications in each of the Trans-Pacific Fellowship categories (RHD, Early Career Academic and Senior Academic).
