The Bibliographic Data Collection can be quite a detailed task. We have compiled a few tips and tricks to assist you in collecting the required data.
1. Read the Word document HERDC Publications Specifications to familiarise yourself with the submission requirements.
2. Follow the eSpace category guidelines to create and edit records.
3. Use the draft proformas and checklists provided to check that all the data and evidence is accurate.
4. Apply for a Business Objects account through the Management Information Section to produce proformas and a Submission Order list from the Reportal.
5. Encourage your academics to submit their publications as early as possible.
6. Enter publications into eSpace as you collect them, not at the last minute. Since many schools, centres and institutes leave the data entry until the last minute, eSpace can slow down owing to the increased traffic.
7. Join the Publications mailing list to keep you up to date with any bibliographic collection correspondence.
8. Attend the Bibliographic Collection – Data Entry & Category Verification training if you are a nominated Data Entry staff member and new to eSpace.
