The application original and number of copies required by the granting body; and,
An extra 2 copies of the application must be provided to the Research and Research Training Division.
When to submit
Internal closing dates are normally set at least 10 days prior to the grantor's deadline to ensure that applications can be checked for compliance with the guidelines and relevant signatures can be obtained.
Where to submit
Most granting bodies require a central contact point within the University, and researchers must submit their applications through the Research and Research Training Division.

Checklist
- Be aware of the internal closing date
- Make sure you have provided an original and the correct number of copies for the grantor. Remember, the Research and Research Training Division requires 2 extra copies
- A Funding Application Coversheet must be completed for all applications submitted through the Research and Research Training Division
- Have you used the correct salary scales?
- Have you included an overheads component in your budget?
- Have you obtained the relevant signatures?
- Have you cleared any legal issues, particularly those pertaining to Intellectual Property, with the Research Legal Services Unit ?
