The University of Queensland holds registration for animal work as follows:


Queensland Regulatory Bodies

The University is registered as an institution that uses animals for scientific purposes under the Queensland Animal Care and Protection Act (2001). The registered number is 0020 and is valid until 22 November 2011.

The University is registered with Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Water under the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2002. The permit number is 0153-01-SRC-001 and is valid to 18 February 2011.


Interstate Regulatory Bodies

Registered with the Victorian Department of Primary Industries, Prevention of Cruelty Animals Act and the 1986 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulations 1997. The licence number is SPFL 321 and is valid until 30 June 2010.

Registered with the South Australian Department of Environment and Heritage, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1985. The licence number is 133 and is valid until 15 May 2011.

Registered with the Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries and Water, Animal Welfare Act 1993. The licence is valid until 31 November 2010.

Registered with the Northern Territory Department of Primary Industries and Water, Animal Welfare Act 1993. The licence number is 007 and is valid until 30 June 2012.

Registered with the Western Australian Local Government and Regional Development, Animal Welfare Act 2002.  The licence number is U 37/2009-2010 and is valid until 30 June 2010.


International Regulatory Bodies

Registered with the National Institute of Health (USA). The Animal Welfare Assurance Number is A5092-01 and is valid until 31 March 2010.

Registered under Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). The registration number is AU053 and is valid perpetual (current).
