The DVC-R has oversight for all aspects of the Research Portfolio.  Staff in the ODVC(R) have responsibility for:

• research strategy and priorities;
• research policy;
• research data reporting and analysis;
• administrative support for the DVC(R);
• facilitating effective lines of communication for all units that report to DVC(R);
• oversight of the budgets and financial outlooks for all units that report to the DVC(R);
• operational support for Research Portfolio, including most finance, HR, information systems, and e-filing support;
• oversight of communication strategies of the Research Portfolio and major research events in consultation with other units;
• oversight of research data analysis and reporting, working closely with the OPVC(R&I);
• other strategic initiatives as required by the University;
• management of the strategic research funds (i.e. Research Only, SRE and RIBG budgets).
