The Travelling Award for Research Training has been established to enable current holders of NHMRC Australian-based Fellowships and Scholarships to value add to their research by providing funding for limited training periods at a temporary host institution.

Application Instructions

Step 1: Apply for a NHMRC ID number and subscribe to the update list

To obtain a number, please complete the form available here. For general enquiries, please e-mail nhmrc@research.uq.edu.au.

Subscribe to the UQ-NHMRC mailing list to receive up-to-date information and announcements. Official information will be sent via the mailing list and it is assumed that all applicants are subscribed.

Step 2: Download documents

Applicants are strongly advised to carefully read the Funding Policy before preparing and submitting an application. These documents and the Application Form are available from: http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/fellows/apply/granttype/training/travel.htm

Step 3: Complete Form

A complete application comprises a single PDF document named “APPID_Surname”

Step 4: Submit Form to RRTD
  • Print one copy (single-sided).
  • Obtain all required signatures (please note that RRTD will organise the Head of Institution and Research Administration Officer signatures.)
  • Send the PDF to RRTD. This should be emailed by 13 June 2008 to j.richards@research.uq.edu.au with the subject "Travel_Application ID_Surname".
  • The PDF should be named "APPID_Surname.pdf".
  • Submit one hard copy with a completed Funding Application Coversheet, to the Research and Research Training Division, Cumbrae-Stewart Building (72). You will need to refer to the RFCD and SEO Codes to complete the Funding Application Coversheet.

You will receive feedback from a Research Administration Officer (RAO) at RRTD and given an opportunity to make changes where necessary. Your RAO will advise on final submission requirements.
