UQ Internal Nomination Process

  1. Prospective Future Fellowship nominees complete the UQ Nomination Form for Candidates and attach their summary CV. Both are lodged through the relevant UQ Head of School or host UQ Centre to their Faculty or Institute for consideration.
  2. If happy to endorse the candidate, the Faculty or Institute prepares a formal Nomination Statement for consideration by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research). The nomination comprises:
    • A summary of the candidate’s credentials;
    • A brief commentary demonstrating how the proposed Future Fellowship will complement and build further capacity in areas of UQ research strength or priority;
    • A statement on the intended arrangements for employment of the candidate following the conclusion of the Fellowship (should it be successful);
    • If known at this stage, a statement on any key resources to be provided by UQ to support the Future Fellowship candidate.
  3. Faculties forward their Nomination Statements, together with the candidate Nomination Forms and CVs to the UQ Research and Innovation Division (t.lloyd@research.uq.edu.au), who will liaise with the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research).

Given the compressed timeframes for the round, Faculty and Institute nominations should be made as soon as possible, but no later than 19 October 2011. The Research and Innovation Division’s Future Fellowships team will then work with endorsed nominees on the preparation of their applications.

Please note: Because 2011 ARC Future Fellowship results are due to be announced in mid-November 2011, just prior to the external closing date for 2012 Future Fellowship applications, automatic re-nomination of 2011 UQ Future Fellowship applicants will be permitted, subject to the approval of the Executive Dean or Institute Director (or their nominee). In any such cases, the Faculty or Institute will simply need to send an e-mail confirmation to this effect to the Research and Innovation Division.
