ARC Final Reports are generally due to R&ID by mid June each year.
Where you have submitted a carry-forward request a final report is still due unless special approval has been granted for a late submission by the ARC. If you are unsure of when your report is due contact the Research Grants Unit (RGU), R&ID for advice.
Special Note for Linkage Project Grants
There is a section in the Final Report form for your industry partner(s) to complete. The ARC requires the industry partner to endorse his/her comments. To comply with this requirement, send a copy of your completed Final Report to your partner(s) and ask them to send you an email confirming their comments. Email your industry partner's confirmation to R&ID (arcreports@research.uq.edu.au).
HOW TO COMPLETE A FINAL REPORT
The ARC provides detailed instructions on their web site:
http://www.arc.gov.au/applicants/reported_requirements_finalrep_instructions.htm
You will need a GAMS ID and password to access the draft form. GAMS is currently being phased out by the ARC, however it is still used for the completion of final reports (as at January 2010). If you do not already have a GAMS ID or require assistance resetting your password, please contact R&ID (details are available at http://www.uq.edu.au/research/rid/grants-arc-rms)
MEETING REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
Progress and Final Reports on ARC-funded projects and fellowships are important elements in ensuring accountability and good management of public funding for research. Reports also support research and researchers by drawing attention to concerns and problems that researchers face.
Researchers should be aware that the ARC will note if the Final Report is not submitted on time, or if it is not satisfied with the outcomes of the Project. The ARC will take this into account in the assessment of future applications. Researchers should also note that Applications under any ARC program may be deemed ineligible if Final Reports are outstanding.
SUBMITTING YOUR FINAL REPORT
Once you have completed all relevant and mandatory parts of the form click "SAVE AND EXIT" and then validate the application by clicking on the blue link VALIDATE. Correct any validation issues and then click on the blue link LOCAL SUBMIT (this link comes up only after you have validated the application). This submits the application to the Research and Innovation Division (R&ID).
Email R&ID (arcreports@research.uq.edu.au) advising that you have completed the Final Report. R&ID will electronically submit to the ARC and retain a copy on file. The ARC does not require a paper-copy.
