About the Scheme
The Discovery Projects scheme provides funding for research projects that can be undertaken by individual researchers or research teams.
Discovery Projects for funding commencing in 2013 include the new Discovery Outstanding Researcher Award (DORA), available for Chief Investigators.
Closing Dates
Internal (R&ID) deadline: Thursday 2 February 2012 (for review and compliance checking of your application).
External (ARC) deadline: Thursday 1 March 2012
Request not to Assess (R&ID) deadline: Thursday 9 February 2012
Request not to Assess (ARC) deadline: Thursday 16 February 2012

Discovery Projects are submitted via the ARC Research Management System (RMS).

Step 3: Ensure intended proposal participants have access to RMS
Step 4: Ensure personal details are correct in RMS
Step 5: Complete the application in RMS
Step 6: Submit the application for internal review
Step 7: Internal (Research & Innovation Division) review
Step 8: Final submission
