The Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize is awarded annually by Columbia University for outstanding basic research in the fields of biology or biochemistry to a scientific investigator, or group of investigators, whose contributions to knowledge in either of these fields are deemed worthy of special recognition. Nominations close on 31 January 2012. Past recipients are listed on the Columbia University Medical Center website.
