 Animal Welfare Workshops


These workshops are designed to assist new staff and postgraduate students in becoming familiar with the various facets of animal experimentation; ethics, legislation, codes of practice, justification for using animals, sources of variability etc. In addition there will be opportunity for "hands-on" experience in the separate practical classes.

Workshops are held in first and second semester for all postgraduate students, and any new staff who may be involved with the use of animals for either research or teaching purposes.

All researchers who use animals must have read [.pdf]Animal Care and Protection Act (2001) and the Australian Code of Practice for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes.

Workshops are open to UQ staff, students and affiliates of UQ only. All Participants Must Register.

 

Large Animal Workshop: Next workshop expected to be held mid-year 2012.
