The University of Queensland invites applications for a limited number of UQ Travel Awards for International Collaborative Research for travel in 2015.   The scheme provides funding to facilitate visits to this University by scholars from other countries.  The scheme aims to offer assistance to scholars actively engaged in research who will contribute substantially to research activity in the nominated UQ School/Centre/Institute. 
The grants are normally reserved for suitably qualified staff of universities and internationally recognised research establishments.   Other persons may be considered where special circumstances exist and comparable standards are satisfied.

The following are the key dates for the UQ Travel Awards for International Collaborative Research for funding in 2015:

The UQ Travel Awards for International Collaborative Research Scheme for 2015 opens: 23 June 2014
Applicants submit their completed applications to Schools/Centres/Institute:  5 August 2014

Schools/Centres/Institutes refer applications to UQR&I: 19 August 2014

Applications to be submitted to Central Selection Committee for assessment:  early September 2014

  • Step 1: Download and read the UQ Travel Award Guidelines and Conditions of Award from the UQ Documentation section below.
  • Step 2: After familiarising yourself with the eligibility and selection criteria, download and complete the 2015 UQ Travel Award Application Form. Please ensure that your application is submitted on this year’s Application Form as proposals submitted on older forms will not be considered.
  • Step 3: Ensure that all supporting documentation is attached to your application, including: Quote from Travel Agent, Program  of Work, Brief Record and Letter of Support from both the proposed host and home institution.
  • Step 4: Submit your signed original Application Form electronically to the relevant host School/Centre/Institute by the scheme closing date.
