UQ Fulbright and beautiful
The University of Queensland's world-class reputation in research and development
has led to four American students selecting UQ to complete their prestigious
Fulbright scholarships.
Of all Australian universities, The University of Queensland attracted the majority of the 12 applications for 2001 Fulbright scholarships.
All four Fulbright scholars were awarded Postgraduate Student Awards. They were Joseph Altepeter (Washington University), Danielle Liubicich (Fairfield University-Connecticut), Shahrdad Lotfipour (University of California-Irvine) and Peter Roos (Montana State University).
The Australian Fulbright program was established in 1949. Since then almost 2500 Australians and over 1700 Americans have been awarded scholarships.
