Hort Innovation is seeking a Request for Proposal from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to provide strategic research and development services and associated co-investment for the project Novel Technologies to Assist Rapid and Sensitive Detection of Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (AS19000).

Overview

Aims
The key objectives of this project are to:
• Develop novel technologies that protect Australian horticultural production from exotic threats
• Improve the ability of Australia to respond to an incursion and increase the likelihood of successful eradication

Eligibility
• Respondents may submit a program proposal independently or form consortia in order to include the range of services required to complete the program.
• Proposals will be assessed against a set of agreed selection criteria in order to derive a short-list of respondents. Shortlisted respondents with confirmed co-funding will be invited to participate in further detailed discussions/presentations and negotiations.

Funding
• Respondents are expected to source and provide co-funding to support their proposal. Only cash co-funding can be leveraged, not in kind. Hort Innovation will leverage external co-investment using Commonwealth government funds.
• Negotiations can only commence with shortlisted respondents once the co-funding has been finalised and confirmed.

Step 1. Completing the application
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
The RFP may be downloaded from www.tenders.net (you will need to be a member of tenders.net to access this information).

Step 2. UQ R&I internal review and feedback
For UQ R&I internal review and feedback, email your application and completed Funding Application Coversheet to your UQ R&I Office of Sponsored Research RAO.

Step 3. Final submission
• Hort Innovation utilises tenders.net for the management of its RFP process. All general updates, notifications and information will be managed through the site.
• In the event that tenders.net is not functioning or if you experience any problems, your proposal may be emailed to tenders@horticulture.com.au before the closing date and time: 5:00PM, 5 August 2019.
