US Department of Defense – Peer Reviewed Alzheimer's Research Program (PRARP) – New Investigator Research Award
Sponsor: US Department of Defense
Closing Date: 27-Sep-2018
The Peer Reviewed Alzheimer's Research Program (PRARP)’s mission is devoted to understanding the association between traumatic brain injury (TBI) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD)/AD-related dementias (ADRD), and reducing the burden on affected individuals and caregivers, especially in the military and Veteran communities. The PRARP’s vision is to address the long-term consequences of TBI as they pertain to AD and ADRD. For FY18, the PRARP is requiring applications to describe the type of dementia that will be the research focus of the application. These are limited to Alzheimer’s dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, mixed dementia, and vascular dementia. Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) research is discouraged.

The intent of the FY18 PRARP New Investigator Research Award is to support early-career investigators interested in novel research efforts or new technologies within TBI and AD/ADRD.
