Physiotherapy Research Foundation - Project Grants

Project Grants are for new or experienced researchers working on new or established physiotherapy research projects. Their purpose is to support research that contributes to the science and practice of physiotherapy. Applications are considered on the basis of scientific merit and the likelihood of the project meeting its objectives, including preparation of a publishable manuscript, within the stated timeframes. There are many research approaches that would be relevant to the grants scheme, such as laboratory studies, clinical research, systematic reviews, economic analyses, implementation research and qualitative research. However, all applications must aim to provide new knowledge relevant to the science and practice of physiotherapy.

Eligibility
The applicant must:
• be the chief investigator of the project
• hold registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
• be an Australian citizen, or have permanent resident status
• currently reside in Australia
• be a financial member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and maintain APA membership for the duration of the grant.

At least one of any associate investigators should be an experienced researcher with previous and current research support and publications arising from that support.

Please note that if a chief investigator has submitted a 2018 Seeding Grant, they are eligible to submit a 2018 Project Grant as long as the project is distinctly different (i.e. the same project cannot be submitted for both grant categories).

An applicant (being the chief investigator) may submit up to two separate applications but will be eligible for a maximum of one grant.

Funding
The duration of Project Grants is 1 year, with funding up to $16,000. There are two grants available in 2018.
