US Department of Defense – Spinal Cord Injury Research Program (SCIRP) – Clinical Trial Award
Sponsor: US Department of Defense
Closing Date: 09-Jul-2018
The FY18 SCIRP challenges the scientific community to design research that will foster new directions for and address neglected issues in the field of spinal cord injury (SCI) focused research. The SCIRP Clinical Trial Award supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to have a significant impact on the treatment or management of SCI. Clinical trials may be designed to evaluate promising new products, pharmacologic agents (drugs or biologics), devices, clinical guidance, and/or emerging approaches and technologies. Proposed projects may range from small proof-of-concept trials (e.g., pilot, first in human, Phase 0) to demonstrate feasibility or inform the design of more advanced trials through large-scale trials to determine efficacy in relevant patient populations.

Eligibility
• Independent investigators at all academic levels (or equivalent) are eligible to apply.

Key Mechanism Elements

Funding
• Maximum funding of USD $3,000,000 for direct costs. Indirect costs may be proposed in accordance with the institution’s negotiated rate agreement.
