Diabetes Australia is the national body for people affected by all types of diabetes and is committed to reducing the impact of diabetes. This year the Diabetes Australia Research Program should provide over $3.6 million to vital diabetes research projects across Australia.

Aims: Applications for the 2019 Grant Round are now open and projects across all areas of diabetes research will be considered. Projects focused on self-monitoring & self-management of diabetes, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and diabetes, and behavioural research are encouraged.

Funding Details:
• The duration of the Millennium Award is 2 years, with funding up to $150,000.
• The duration of the General Grants is 1 year, with funding up to $60,000.

Eligibility: Diabetes Australia Research Program grants are available to non-profit organisations concerned with the promotion of health care, education and / or medical research in the area of diabetes. These organisations must possess the requisite facilities to carry out the activities detailed in the application.

The UQR&I internal deadline for submission of applications is 20 April 2018.

Applicants should provide a completed application and signed Funding Application Coversheet to their UQR&I Office of Sponsored Research RAO in order to commence the UQR&I review process.
