The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) has two research funding priority areas for 2018 research funding: a) Early Detection • Identifying early events in tumour formation and progression, to help diagnose the presence of ovarian cancer • Identifying biomarkers that are at a concentration detectable at the early stages of the disease • Investigating methods that may block the ability of the cancer to spread b) Management and Treatment • Developing new targets for therapy • Looking at the best way to beat chemotherapy resistance Funding Details: The duration of Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation Grants is between 1 – 3 years, with a focus on supporting research salaries in addition to research costs. Eligibility: • A single institution must be nominated as the Administering Institution. • Chief Investigators must be able to demonstrate career excellence and a commitment to carry out research projects that aim to have a significant impact on ovarian cancer. • Each application must have a Lead CI who takes the Lead role in preparing the application, conducting the research and reporting. • The Lead CI can nominate additional CIs who will be considered equal on the grant. All CIs must show a significant contribution to the project. • Associate Investigators may be appointed in an advisory capacity. The UQR&I internal deadline for submission of applications is close of business Monday 19 March 2018. Applicants should provide a completed application and signed Funding Application Coversheet to their UQR&I Office of Sponsored Research RAO in order to commence the UQR&I review process.
