The NHMRC has released the Funding Rules for =https://www.nhmrc.gov.au/grants-funding/apply-funding/nhmrc-european-union-eu-collaborative-research-grants-funding]NHMRC-European Union (EU) Collaborative Research Grants for funding commencing in 2019 and confirmed the eligible European Union Horizon 2020 calls for this round. The NHMRC documentation is available through GrantConnect.

The NHMRC-EU scheme aims to provide assistance to Australian researchers to participate in multinational research collaborative projects with international researchers that have been selected for funding under eligible EU Horizon 2020 calls. More information on Horizon 2020 is available from the European Commission Horizon 2020 website.

Projects involving Australian researchers based in Australia that are chosen by the European Commission (EC) for funding, may be eligible for NHMRC support. Australian CIs may apply for up to $500,000 over a maximum of five years for each application. Holding an NHMRC-EU Collaborative Research Grant does not affect a CI’s ability to hold other NHMRC grants.

The NHMRC intends that all eligible applications will receive funding through the NHMRC-EU scheme.
