Addiction Studies are the only alcohol and drug related programs offered in Queensland as part of a formal educational qualification. Completion of courses enriches the knowledge of professionals and students working in the field to adequately respond to challenges of complex health issues derived from alcohol and drugs. Course material is updated frequently to reflect current social trends and up-to-date research findings.
Available in 3 levels of study and forming part of the Graduate Health Studies Program, Addiction Studies assist health and human service professionals to develop expertise in this challenging field.
Graduate Diploma
Completion of 8 courses, 6 of which must be Addiction Studies courses, at least 1 from the School of Population Health (SPH) A list and any elective from the SPH list - 16 units. The Diploma is generally studied over a period of two years, part-time.
Completion of 12 courses, 6 of which must be Addiction Studies courses, at least 2 from the School of Population Health A list and any 4 electives from the SPH list - 24 units.
Studied over a period of three years, part-time.
Avialable to students who hold a 4 year degree in a relevant field
Completion of 8 courses, 4 of which must be Addiction Studies courses, at least 2 from the School of Population Health A list and any 2 electives from the SPH list.
