PACE - Information for Students

Why move to PACE?

In recent years the School of Pharmacy’s undergraduate intake has significantly increased to meet the demands of the pharmacy profession. This increase of student numbers and our commitment to excellence in pharmacy education and research has driven our relocation to the Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE), a brand new, state-of-the-art teaching and research facility. The move has made UQ the only pharmacy school in the country to be co-located with industry within a purpose-built precinct

The move allows the School to expand its research capacity, and significantly grow its undergraduate and post graduate student body.

By Train

Dutton Park railway station is situated adjacent to PACE. Services run twice an hour all day, and four times an hour during peak times.

  • Beenleigh Line from the city and northern suburbs
  • Ferney Grove Line fom southern suburbs
  • Cleveland Line from Bayside (change to Beenleigh line at Park Road Station)

By Bus

Many buses serve the area immediately surrounding PACE:

  • 29, 109, 139, 169, 209 stop at the PA Hospital Busway station
  • 198, 202 stop on Cornwall Street outside PACE, 104 stops on Cornwall Street at the PA Hospital
  • 105, 107, 108, 112, 116, 192, 196, 197, 198 stop on Annerley Road near the Dutton Park Railway Station
  • 100, 110, 113, 115, 117, 124, 125, 172, 198, 475, 476, 540 stop on Ipswich Road at the PA Hospital

From St Lucia Campus

  • The following buses run from UQ Lakes to PA Hospital Busway: 29, 109, 139, 169, 209

Walking to PACE from the PA Hospital Busway

  1. Come down to road level and walk into the PA hospital campus via the hospital access road.
  2. Continue up the hospital access road to the bend in the road and the zebra crossing that has a roof over it.
  3. Cross the zebra crossing and follow the path alongside the Geriatric & Rehabilitation Unit (GARU) which brings you out on Cornwall St between GARU (Building 7) and the renal unit (building 31) and close to the PA hospital gate 1.
  4. If you don’t find the path beside GARU just follow the road all the way to the end, which will be the PA hospital gate 2.
  5. Turn right on Cornwall St. and walk up to PACE

Parking

  • There are no facilities for student parking within the PACE precinct, however there is on-street parking in the local vicinity, which has a 2 hour limit 7am - 7pm (Dutton Park Parking Control area).
  • Parking is available on St Lucia campus, connection to PACE is via bus or a short walk across the Eleanor Schonnell Bridge
