PACE: Growing the Future Leaders in Pharmacy
The School of Pharmacy is preparing to welcome students for the 2011 academic year, marking the one year anniversary of the start of teaching within the new Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE).
While 2010 saw the 50th anniversary of the School of Pharmacy at UQ, it also launched the School into an exciting new phase of teaching excellence, with students experiencing the unique facilities on offer at PACE for the very first time.
The buzz around the precinct as students explored the $100 million purpose-built facility was electric, with students and staff alike in awe of their fantastic new space.
The first of its kind for an Australian School of Pharmacy, PACE brings together teaching, research, peak professional bodies and a brand new UQ Healthcare Clinic (opened February 2011), all situated adjacent to one of Australia's premier teaching hospitals, the Princess Alexandra. All this is positioned in the centre of Brisbane's bio-technology heart, and just a short stroll from UQ's main campus at St Lucia.
The UQ School of Pharmacy will welcome its largest 1st year cohort to-date in 2011, and is gearing up to showcase the amazing new facilities at it's second annual Open Day on August 28.
Prospective students can register to attend the 2011 UQ School of Pharmacy Open Day here.
