Bruce Green completed his undergraduate pharmacy qualification at Kings College London, which was followed by a registration year at Guys Hospital, London. He then became a resident at the sister hospital St Thomas' before moving to far north Queensland, Australia where he worked as a clinical pharmacist in Cairns Base Hospital. He returned to the U.K. in 1997 as the Directorate Pharmacist for Internal Medicine at Brighton Health Care, and completed a Masters of Science at the University of Brighton (UK). He then returned to Australia as a conjoint lecturer at UQ in 2000, and joined the School of Pharmacy full time in 2001 while completing his Doctoral studies in pharmacostatistical modelling.
His interest in pharmacometrics has continued, and he is involved in many projects that utilize population analysis, simulation and experimental design techniques.
He completed a 'Research Fellowship' at the Center for Drug Development Science, UCSF, Washington, DC and has served as a 'Guest Reviewer' at the US Food and Drug Administration.
Research Interests
Bruce has a wide range of research interests in areas of quality use of medications, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic analysis and works closely with other members of the Modelling and Simulation group.
Dosing is often based upon some demographic feature such as body weight. For further information about dosing drugs and obesity link to Bruce Green's Research page
Obesity Research Collaborative with Pfizer Global Research and Development
Dr Bruce Green in collaboration with Dr Carl Kirkpatrick, Dr Steve Duffull and Pfizer Global Research and Development have recently obtained funding to support two PhD students and two post doctoral research fellowships.
These research opportunities will use quantitative pharmacology and pharmacometric techniques to explore some basic science related patho-physiological responses in the obese as well as explore obesity as a covariate in model based drug development.
