The modelling and simulation group at the School of Pharmacy, University of Queensland, includes internationally recognised researchers that have a diverse range of interests in the area of pharmacometrics. Pharmacometrics refers to the analysis of experiments and clinical studies for the purposes of quantitation of drug effects, optimisation of study designs and selection of best dosing regimens.

Interests of the group

Optimising drug therapy for: rheumatology, solid organ transplantation, infectious diseases, cancer, Parkinson's disease and diabetes mellitus.

Nonlinear mixed effects modelling: For pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.

Designing clinical trials: Using simulation and design of experiments techniques.

Compliance: affect of compliance on clinical trial outcomes, modelling compliance and methods of optimising compliance.

Bayesian analysis: MCMC techniques.

Pharmacokinetic influences of: obestiy and measures of body size.
