Parking spaces are reserved for vehicles of people with mobility disability at a number of locations around all University of Queensland campuses and sites. Please note that the only authorisation accepted on University sites is a valid permit issued through Queensland Transport or another State or Territory issuing-authority.
The Queensland Transport Blue Disability Parking Permit entitles the holder to:
- Free parking in metered or regulated parking areas.
- The use of disability parking bays in on-street and off-street parking, including shopping centres, hospital carparks, and the University of Queensland.
The Queensland Transport Red Disability Parking Permit entitles the holder to:
- The use of disability parking bays in off-street parking, including shopping centres, hospital carparks, and the University of Queensland.
This means that, at UQ, Red Disability Permit-holders may park in All-day parking zones free-of-charge, but if you park in a casual parking area (Short-term casual or Long-term casual), then you may use a disability or other bay, but must pay the required fee.
If you wish for more information or you wish to apply for a Disability Permit, please visit the Queensland Transport
