There are several options available for visitors who drive to the St Lucia campus infrequently:

All-day flat rate daily fee parking paid at pay & display machines. Pay & display tickets must be displayed on the dashboard with the details visible from outside the vehicle.

Long-term pay-by-the-hour parking with tickets dispensed from pay & display machines. Minimum payment is 20-cents. Pay & display tickets must be displayed on the dashboard with the details visible from outside the vehicle.

Short-term parking that is time-limited to a maximum of 1½-hours is managed by pay & display machines. Inserting more than the maximum fee will NOT extend the 1½-hour maximum limit. The fee is charged at an hourly rate, and minimum payment is 20-cents. After 6:00pm each evening, the time restriction is eased, and patrons may purchase a ticket for the whole three-hour period (6:00pm – 9:00pm), or for a part thereof - the fee is calculated at the same hourly rate. Refer to the Casual Parking Fees page for details. Pay & display tickets must be displayed on the dashboard with the details visible from outside the vehicle.

Short-term Disabled A Blue Disability Permit issued by the Queensland Department of Transport must be clearly displayed through the windscreen, with all details visible. No fee is required. A Red Disability Permit issued by the Queensland Department of Transport must be clearly displayed through the windscreen, with all details visible, AND the pay & display ticket must also be displayed with the details visible from outside the vehicle.

Multi-Level carparks - Flat fee for a day or part thereof. Dispensers at the entry boom gates issue a magnetic stripe ticket on which is recorded the date and time of entry. Payment for the outstanding charge must be made at the automatic payment machine before returning to the vehicle. The ticket is then used to activate the boom gate when driving from the carpark.

Scratch-It Permits - Faculties, Schools, and other organisational units are able to pre-purchase a day permit for their visitors that will allow parking in all parking bays other than Loading zones, Guaranteed parking areas, and Service & Maintenance spaces. Payment is made by Internal Services Charge (ISC) and the permits are usually sold in blocks of ten.
