Paid parking applies at the following University campuses and sites:
- St Lucia
- Herston
- Turbot Street
- UQ Ipswich
- Buranda (PACE)
- Indooroopilly Experimental Mine (from January 2010)
however, it is important to note that University parking regulations also apply at all other University campuses and sites, including:
- UQ Gatton
- Customs House (Brisbane City)
- Pinjarra Hills
- Toowoomba (Health Sciences)
University staff members, and staff members of external organisations, such as those with lease arrangements with the University that include access to parking, have various options in relation to parking, including All-day zones, and the Multi-level and Conifer Knoll carparks. The purchase of a Guaranteed (Multi-level) or Guaranteed (Conifer Knoll) permit will ensure that a space will be available between 7:00am and 5:00pm each weekday.
Each year, the new permit becomes valid from the Monday of Orientation Week. The permit fee is charged in fortnightly blocks that correspond to the University's payroll fortnight. A part fortnight is charged as a full fortnight. Permits paid through a fortnightly payroll deduction will remain valid until a request for cancellation is made by the permit-holder to UQ Traffic & Parking - that is, it will not need to be renewed each year. Continuing All-day permits are issued on an annual basis, and need to be renewed each year, however, these are in process of being phased out (at 31st December 2010) and will only be available for renewal to people who held a valid permit as at 31st December 2008. To renew a permit, please select the link to the campus at which you are based from the menu on the right hand side of this page.
It is important to note that The University does not accept any responsibility for the (i) loss or damage to any vehicle; or, (ii) loss or damage to any article or thing, in or upon any vehicle or for any injury to any person, howsoever such loss, damage or injury may arise, including by way of negligence by the University.
