Casual Parking
Students at St Lucia and Herston may use any of the casual parking options that are designated as All-day parking (indicated by the colour green on the parking guide maps), Long-term parking (indicated by the colour purple on the parking guide maps), or Short-term parking [maximum of 90-minutes] (indicated by the colour yellow on the parking guide maps), and are managed by pay & display machines. Pay & display machines do not give change, and it is the user's responsibility to tender the correct fee. However, change machines are located on level two of the Conifer Knoll carpark, and in the UQ Centre carpark. Alternatively, students may park in the Multi-level carparks on a casual basis.
Please note that the All-day pay & display permit issued at St Lucia is also valid in the All-day zone at UQ Ipswich (indicated by the colour pink on the Ipswich parking guide map). However, the All-day pay & display ticket issued at UQ Ipswich is NOT valid at St Lucia.
Undergraduate students at the Dental School should note that no casual parking is available on campus at the School of Dentistry site in Turbot Street.
Permit Parking (Multi-level Carparks)
Students are also able to purchase a permit to park in the multi-level carparks on an annual basis - the fee reducing on a pro rata basis in fortnightly lots. To apply for, or to renew, a student multi-level permit, please click here. After completing the form please deliver it by fax, e-mail or by hand to UQ Traffic & Parking, where staff will process the application and issue the permit. Please ensure that all relevant sections are completed and signed. Incomplete forms will be returned to the applicant. Please note that priority is given to staff member applicants, so in the first instance, applications will be placed on a waiting list and the student will be notified by e-mail when a space is available.
Postgraduate Students
Enrolled postgraduate students who held a valid Postgraduate Permit at 31st December 2008, may purchase an annual All-day zone permit that is valid in All-day zones at St Lucia, Herston, and UQ Ipswich. The Postgraduate Permit is no longer available, and the All-day permit will be discontinued after 31st December 2010. If you are eligible, please click here to renew your permit but please note that if you did not have a valid 2008 Postgraduate permit at 31st December 2008 then a 2009 All-day permit will not be issued. After completing the form please deliver it by fax, e-mail or by hand to UQ Traffic & Parking, where staff will process the application and issue the permit. Please ensure that all relevant sections are completed and signed. Incomplete forms will be returned to the applicant.
