Sarah Yeates

Librarian / Research Assistant

Sarah Yeates is a reference librarian with a Masters Degree from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois. Sarah has extensive experience in providing research support and collection development services in academic and specialist science libraries, including the University of Queensland and the City University of New York. Her most recent position was Senior Librarian for Client Services at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.


Research Interests

Sarah's research interests include:

  • History of science, particularly the intersection of natural history, anthropology and politics in the nineteenth century (Huxley, Evolution and Ethics).
  • Science libraries and periodicals, trends in scientific literature and publishing, literature searching and academic communication.
  • Science and pseudoscientific ideas in popular culture, public understanding of science
  • Bibliography of interdisciplinary topics.
  • Sarah's current project is to create a useful bibliographic database on public policy and ethics in biotechnology and the new genetics and related topics.
