UQ Corporate Video

The UQ Corporate Video has been updated and is now available for use. Aimed at a variety of internal and external audiences, the video provides an engaging, visual overview of the University and includes information on our rankings, memberships, facilities, and research and teaching achievements. New footage from UQ’s 2016 TV commercials has also been incorporated.

We encourage staff members to use the corporate video in relevant forums, and please update to the new version if you are currently using it for any purpose. Download the video directly from Vimeo in MP4 format, embed from YouTube or contact the OMC Marketing team for a copy of the video file.

Submit your stories: ChangeMakers 2017

OMC is seeking story ideas from Comnet for the next edition of ChangeMakers, which will be released mid-2017.

ChangeMakers is an outward-facing magazine for people who value innovation and its transformative effects on society, and is distributed to a wide list of government, industry, and institutional partners and prospects.

Any stories you wish to submit should focus on a person, team, unit, discipline or subject from UQ that is creating positive change. If you’re looking for some inspiration, categories for our regular feature sections can be found in the downloadable PDF here.

If you have a suggestion for a feature story, profile or opinion piece for ChangeMakers, or would like to discuss what sort of content would be suitable, email the OMC Publications team or phone ext. 52479; we welcome the chance to discuss suggestions with you.

Hard copies of the current edition are still available for events, conferences, or high-traffic areas; please contact us if you require copies.

Research Impact

In a move away from the traditional print and interactive pdf format for showcasing UQ research, Research Week 2016 kicked off with the launch of a brand new website: Research Impact. Taking full advantage of the new Shorthand story telling platform, the site features 12 diverse research stories – from phone apps and food ‘adds’ to black holes and bleached corals.

The site will be continually updated throughout the year to showcase the breadth of UQ research, so keep your eyes open for suitable stories that can be featured in future. Stories are categorised by stage of research (discovery, engagement or impact) and type of research (arts and society, healthy people, feeding the world, resilient environments and technology for tomorrow), so there is room for everyone to contribute.

As we say, from science and sustainability to health and humanities, UQ research has impact, and this website is designed for visitors to learn more, be inspired, and discover how UQ creates change.

A complementary six-page printed flyer has also been produced, featuring UQ facts and statistics. Email publications@uq.edu.au if you require copies.

If you would like to know more about getting involved, please contact Ali Nugent, Project Officer, ODVCR.

Thank you to all Comnet staff who have helped to make the launch edition a success.
