New digital entrance signage
As part of the revamped entrance recently completed at UQ St Lucia, you may have noticed two new digital signs that have been installed on Sir Fred Schonell Drive and Coldridge Street.
These signs will replace old vinyl banners, providing a more flexible and cost effective way to promote a range of campus events and activities.
OMC will be managing bookings for the signage and would like to invite members of The Network to submit their key events and activities for inclusion on the digital screens. Some guidelines will apply and OMC can assist with creation of artwork if required.
The new digital signage is just one of the many communication channels OMC can assist with to help promote key University events and initiatives.

A group of UQ marcomms staff recently attended a PRIA issues management session led by Dr Tony Jacques from Issues Outcomes – one of Australia’s most notable issues management experts.
Here are some of the key learnings from the session:
- Ensure the issues management plan supports the overall strategy
- Take active leadership and be in proactive mode
- Be willing and able to take action
- Focus on making a difference rather than getting the process right
- Ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined
- Ensure business units are accountable and responsible for delivering outcomes
- Understand your stakeholders and their influences
- Remember that issues management is an integral part of business planning.
For more information or resources on issues management go to www.issuemanagement.org, where you can subscribe to Dr Jacques’ regular e-newsletter or visit www.crisisexperts.com.
Should you ever have an issue in your area or any queries about issue management, please contact the UQ Communications team – 07 3365 1120 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
As highlighted in a recent email to all UQ staff, the University is analysing its governance structures, in particular procurement and conflicts of interest.
All procurement must be undertaken in accordance with UQ’s Purchasing Policy (PPL 9.40.01 Purchasing).
We encourage members of the Network to ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities prior to undertaking any procurement activity, regardless of the monetary value.
A snapshot of the procurement thresholds and approach is provided here.
