UQ joins Instagram
UQ has a new Instagram page, and it would be great to have your help to populate it.
The Instagram page was launched via a competition at the 2013 Open Day events, with hundreds of posts received and followers of the page steadily increasing.
OMC is now working on the next steps for this channel. To keep the page growing and continue engagement with our followers, we are keen to work closely with all areas of the University. If you have photos to add to our page, ideally that demonstrate the UQ Advantage, please send them through with a short blurb to Sara Ledermann. We look forward to hearing from you.
Open Day attendance rises
Great teamwork, sunny days and more visitors contributed to a very successful series of UQ Open Days for 2013.
The Office of Marketing and Communications thanks everybody for their contributions and hard work at the events at St Lucia, Ipswich and Gatton campuses. St Lucia achieved a 22 per cent increase in attendance this year with more than 21,900 attendees – a record attendance for this event. These increases were also reflected in the number of online itineraries created and Open Day App downloads prior to the event.
The Ipswich and Gatton events also boasted strong attendance numbers, with more than 1100 visitors at Ipswich Open Day, a 3 per cent increase, and more than 2100 visitors at the Gatton Open Day, a 10 per cent increase. We received plenty of positive feedback and we hope you enjoyed the events.
Staff who worked at the St Lucia event are able to provide feedback until 9 September here.
In the coming weeks we will also be uploading images from the events to UQ Images, which will be available to the Network to download.
Thank you to all staff that helped showcase the University to visitors. It could not have been done without your teamwork.
2014 International Undergraduate and Postgraduate Guide App out now
The 2014 International Undergraduate and Postgraduate Guides are available for the first time as an app.
Easily downloadable for iPhone and iPad from the Apple App Store and for Android tablets from Google Play, the app is a great resource for those involved in international recruitment and marketing.
The app includes an integrated postgraduate and undergraduate study guide, as well as a program finder, videos, image galleries and an interactive map.
The content is enhanced by an intuitive, user-friendly interface, allowing students and education representatives to easily navigate through the app to find course, campus or study information.
The app enhances the many ways UQ International communicates and interacts with students but is not intended to replace the hard-copy versions of the guides. The app is a handy resource for members of the UQ Network to use when counselling students about study options at UQ.
For more information, please contact UQI’s Tegan Radford Beer or phone ext. 67632.
