QR Codes de-coded
QR Codes, you may have heard about them but what do they actually do? They are effectively a barcode that can be interpreted by a camera-enabled smartphone or tablet via an application- saving the user from typing in the URL. OMC has begun using QR codes in UQ News to link text stories to their UQ News TV episodes. Once the reader has installed a QR code reading app (there are many free options available) they can simply wave the device over the code and the video will begin playing.

UQ St Lucia Open Day
UQ’s St Lucia Open Day for 2011 was a huge success. Those who attended have since provided positive feedback and visitor numbers were up on last years’ figures. Baby echidnas, fairy floss, rides and live music were just a sample of what was on offer in the Great Court. While in the UQ Centre, attendance numbers had increased by almost 10% since last year. The Exhibition Hall hosted over 70 stalls where potential students and their families could inquire about course information.
