The Network - News from the UQ marketing and communications network

Solar project launched

The creation of illustrated storyboards on solar experiments to engage the community is just one part of an integrated marketing and communications approach to launch the UQ Solar project, and something of a new venture for OMC. The project team has also been developing a website, media releases and kits, factsheets, and an edition of UQNews TV to ensure the amazing $7.75million PV array gets a big public splash from July 15.


Harvest showcases student talent

The lights came on at the Geoffrey Rush Studio's first production on Wednesday May 25, with drama students presenting Manjula Padmanabhan's award-winning play, Harvest – a futuristic play about organ selling in India. Harvest was directed by Dr. Sean Edgecomb, from the School of English, Media Studies and Art History (EMSAH) and showcased the work of DRAM2310 students. Read more.

Advertising UQ in 2011

Over the last few weeks we have launched UQ's 2011 advertising campaign. Building on last year's campaign and incorporating UQ Advantage messages we have retained "The University of...", but have replaced an individual's name with a number of aspirational nouns (Leaders, Visionaries, Strategists etc). We have also broadened the scope of the campaign, in terms of the media we use and the audiences we target.


Industry leaders come together

Our industry colleagues will be getting together in Perth in September for the Universities' Marketing, Communications and Development Conference. The three-day event boasts keynote speakers from around the globe, including star of ABC TV's The Gruen Transfer, Todd Sampson. Read more at
