Victoria Bick has recently joined UQ Global Engagement as the Manager, International Visits and Events. Victoria has over seven years’ experience working in events, protocol and project management within the higher education sector, including senior positions at the University of Tasmania, Australian Catholic University and Macquarie University. Casey Fung has been appointed to the role of Media and Communications Coordinator with the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology. Casey has been a Marketing and Communications Officer at OMC since June last year, prior to which he worked in various UQ roles and as a news reporter at Channel Ten and the ABC. Kim Lyell has joined the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences as the new Media and Communications Manager. Kim brings more than 25 years of experience, predominantly spent as a journalist in television, digital, print and radio. In recent years, Kim has entered the world of research with roles at the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health, the Office of the Minister for Science and Innovation (QLD Govt) and Media and Stakeholder Relations Manager at QIMR Berghofer. Phil van Zyl has commenced in the role of Marketing and Communications Officer at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Phil has been working in Marketing roles in the real estate services, jewellery and sporting industries over the last five years and completed his Master of Marketing from QUT in 2009. He brings a broad range of skills in web design, digital marketing, event management, project management and CRM systems. Phil is replacing Jessica Boulter, who is taking three months extended leave.
