Caroline Esera has been appointed to the position of Assistant Manager, Marketing & Communications in the Faculty of Science. Caroline has worked at UQ previously within Advancement and the Diamantina Institute between 2010 and 2014. More recently, she worked for Biosecurity Queensland and the Cerebral Palsy League in marketing, communications and fundraising positions. Zarese Kisielewski has joined the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI) as Communications and Events Officer which is a new role, fixed term for 12 months. Zarese has most recently been working on behalf of the Australian Red Cross in Laos as a Marketing and Fundraising Advisor for the Lao Red Cross. Justin Laing has joined the Faculty of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences as the Marketing and Communications Manager. Justin has most recently been leading Monash University’s Content strategy and development team in Melbourne and has both central and faculty experience across Monash University and QUT. Kim Lyell has joined the School of Public Health as Communications Officer with the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health, fixed-term for 12 months. Kim joins UQ from the Queensland State Government where she was Senior Media Advisor to the Minister for Science and Innovation. Previously she worked as Media and Stakeholder Relations Manager at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute and as a journalist and producer with the ABC. Rosanna Ryan has joined the UQ International Marketing and Recruitment team as Marketing Intelligence Analyst. Jamie Mitchell joins UQ Sport in the newly created role of PR & Communications Specialist. Jamie brings a wealth of journalistic experience to UQ Sport, having worked as a Sports Reporter for Sky News Australia, and most recently Channel 9 in Brisbane. Ivana Nikolic is the newest member of the UQ Sport team, employed as Digital Marketing Coordinator. Boasting over seven years’ traditional and digital marketing experience, Ivana has served as Marketing Manager at Alpha Group of Companies, and specialises in assisting companies grow their social media presence. Sharyn Sawyer brings more than two decades’ senior management experience to the position of UQ Sport Marketing Manager. Sharyn has held state, national and international marketing, communications and media posts for an array of household brands in sport, tourism, transport, entertainment, health, and media, namely Qantas, Flight Centre, Accor and Brisbane Turf Club. She headed communications for the Queensland Government’s major events agency for almost a decade.
