OH&S Training for UQ Workers

The training you require will depend on your experience, prior training and the nature of your work activities. Your training requirements may vary over time, and as your project develops and/or work activities evolve. Please ensure you review your safety training requirements with your Supervisor regularly.

Is an Undergraduate Student considered a 'worker'?

Not usually, but sometimes. In particular circumstances an undergraduate student may be considered to be carrying out work as a 'worker' in the workplace, and as such, may be required to complete workplace OH&S inductions and training. Examples include students completing special projects or honours research in a work type environment (e.g. Research Laboratory, Workshop, Field site); students gaining work experience; students volunteering on field trips; vacation scholars etc.
