UQ Compliance Legislation Register
To manage the numerous laws and regulations that are applicable to UQ, the Compliance Policy (PPL 1.60.08) has been approved by Senate. The Policy sets up a framework in which everybody takes ownership of their compliance responsibility. The Director, OHS is the accountable officer for OHS related legislation, and has responsibility for ensuring the register is kept up-to-date.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland
The Work Health and Safety Act 2011 provides a balanced and nationally consistent framework to secure the health and safety of workers and workplaces.
Lawlex Legislative Alert Service
UQ staff have access to an electronic update alert service that provides notification of changes to relevant legislative material. UQ as an enterprise has obtained a licence that provides access to this service to all UQ staff.
Codes of Practice
A code of practice provides practical guidance for people who have work health and safety duties. These codes give guidance on how to achieve the standards required under the Act, and effective ways to identify and manage risks.
Standards are official publications used in industry and trade to describe specifications and procedures. Standards provide rules and recommendations for; quality, safety, performance and construction, codes of practice, methods of testing, symbols and terminology.
